36.4 Weeks

Holy Shit!

Yup! The babies are almost here! How crazy is that? It seemed like a long ways away when we first started with IPConceptions last year. Now, we are just fewer than 72 hours away! After the appointment, I talked to Scott on the phone and said that we are about 72 hours away from being parents. Right after I said that I got a moment of silence and then a resounding "WOW!"

SHIT. JUST. GOT. REAL.

It's crazy how we can now count down saying hours instead of years, months, weeks and even days.

Here are the numbers for the last time before the delivery!!! - again, the numbers in bold are the current measurements and numbers after are from the last ultrasound:

Note: Fetus #2 was wiggling around a lot during the ultrasound so Dr. E had a hard time getting good measurements.

Fetus #1
Biparietal diameter: 92 mm (3.62 in) 86.9 mm (3.42 in)
Head circumference: 311 mm (12.24 in) 301 mm (11.85 in)
Fetal heart rate: 164 BPM 144 BPM
Abdominal circumference: 301 mm (11.85 in) 299 mm (11.77 in)
Femur length: 66.6 mm (2.6 in) 66 mm (2.6 in)
Approx weight: 2400 g (5.29 lb) 2300 g (5.07 lb)

Fetus #2
Biparietal diameter: 87.7 mm (3.45 in) 85 mm (3.35 in)
Head circumference: 301 mm (11.85 in) 301 mm (11.85 in)
Fetal heart rate: 140 BPM 135 BPM
Abdominal circumference: 307.7 mm (12.11 in) 318 mm (12.52 in)
Femur length: 68.1 mm (2.68 in) 67 mm (2.64 in)
Approx weight: 2450 g (5.4 lb) 2450 g (5.4 lb)

Dr. E says the babies are good and our surrogate Tati is doing well. She says she has a hard time sleeping though.

I can't remember if I wrote this in the last update or not, but our surrogate wrote us a letter in Spanish and had Dr. E translate it. It was a really touching letter. I'm not going to say all of it because it's pretty personal, but it basically said she was really thankful for the chance to give her and her family an opportunity and she was happy to help us start our family. How nice is that!?! WE are actually really thankful for her!!!!

Right before I started writing this, we just put the carseats in one of our cars. The bases are really easy to install in the car. If you have a newer model vehicle, most usually have them now, they have latches specifically for car seats. If you look in your car, there is usually a little button picture above where the latches are located. Anyhow, you MUST kneel on the base to make sure it's really really secure and not moving around.

Alright! That's about it for now. We are packing the last few things and gathering the last few things we need and trying to make sure we have what we need and that things are set for the time we are gone.

The next time I update this blog, we might already be dads!!!! I'll try to post a pic or two in the next couple days though. Until then, ciao!
