Baby Shower - Part 1

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. It's been a bit crazy since the baby shower because I had to work 10 days straight after that weekend - all early AMs and that's not fun for anyone. In this update, I'll tell you about the baby shower.

Thing 1 and Thing 2

That was the theme from Dr. Seuss for the family/friends baby shower a couple weeks ago. Our friend Stacy came up with it originally a long time ago so we stuck with that. It fits quite nicely since we aren't going to find out the sex of the babies anyway. Pretty clever right? The baby shower was given by: Alissa, Addie, Dawn, Jen and Stacy - thanks! We were so lucky to have them throw us our baby shower! It was a success if I do say so myself! We thought of having a taco lady come. She comes with all the fixings for street style tacos and even brings with her a grill, tables and whatever else she needs to serve the tacos. We set up the house, umbrellas, tent and tables in the backyard the night before and decorated as much as possible late into the evening. We also helped Alissa with the food preparation making all sorts of veggie/fruit and dessert trays and what not.

Our hard work setting up and preparing for the baby shower was a success. It all went pretty smoothly! Except the taco lady ended up being a taco guy in the end due to a last minute change on their end. That's neither here nor there. Anyway, the taco guy was a HUGE hit! It was nice because we didn't have to worry about a single thing with the main food. Just putting out hors d'oeuvres but that was all mainly set-up before guests arrived. We were all free to mingle with guests and catch up with friends we haven't seen in forever

I have to admit, I got a little obsessive taking a look at the registry several times a day seeing what people picked up and wondering who got what. We got a lot of things that day. We didn't open them until the next day. My sister and kids stopped by to see what we got. My sister even hand made blankets for each baby! I think she said it took her about three months each to complete. Crazy!

All in all, it was all great to see everyone, including some of Scott's friends from work who I hear all about all the time but never get to see. We are going to have a separate work one from my work coming up next week. Looking back on it though, I probably should have invited everyone all at once. Oh well, it all worked out and was a great turn-out with our family and friends!

We used a few Dr. Seuss books as the guest books.

The Taco Man!!!

We had some fun picture props but not a lot of folks took pics with it. We really needed a photography director or something to get folks to go to our "photo area" to take pics. Thankfully, my family and cousins played along!

The next day opening the presents with some help from Adella and Olivia:

And finally.....

the end.
